One of the Cambridge Historical Association projects this year was helping the city prepare a trail sign for the
Heart of Iowa Nature Trail when the stretch from Cambridge to Maxwell is opened.
Story County Conservation has a
project underway to restore two bridge structures and build nearly four miles of trail between Cambridge and County Highway S-14.
The sign has been completed and is ready for installation when the trail is opened in the summer of 2010. Thanks to
Don Erickson who prepared the history for the brass sign and oversaw its completion. You can click on the sign shown on the left for a larger picture.
